Q.
How much do you charge?

A.
All labor (on and off-site) is $60 per hour with a minimum of $30 per on-site service call. Price of travel will be additional for round-trips of 50 miles or more ($0.55/mile).top

Q.
My computer is running very slowly and I don't know why... help?

A.
More than likely, your computer's operating system (i.e. Windows XP) has just gotten bogged down over time with lots of unnecessary programs and stray files. The good news is: the computer itself is probably fine, it just needs a good cleaning!

I've found that the most efficient way of dealing with nagging software problems (viruses, spyware, malware, etc.) is to back up all of your important data, erase the hard drive and reinstall the operating system from scratch. This is the best way to restore your computer to its former glory without wasting hours of time trying to hunt down any number of possible causes.

In most cases, I will pick up your computer, fix it and have it back to you the next day. Once it's done, it will be running as fast as when you first got it (or faster) with all of your important data right where you left it.

This process usually takes three hours from start to finish, delivery included.top

Q.
Where are you located and how far are you willing to travel?

A.
I live in Bourne, MA and I'm willing to travel a reasonable distance (within roughly one hour's drive from my home).top

Q.
My computer is four or five years old. Should I fix it or just buy a new one?

A.
That really depends on what your needs are. If you're using it for e-mail and internet access only, then you can probably get away with using it for another year or two. But, if you're looking to do more complex things with it, then it might be time to buy a new computer. top

Q.
My computer came with Windows 8 and I hate it! Can you get rid of it and install Windows 7 instead?

A.
Yes, it's basically the same process as described in Question #2, a three-hour job and if you're comfortable with using Windows 7, it's well worth the money.top

Q.
Can you transfer all of my data from my old computer to the new one?

A.
Yes, absolutely. top

Q.
I need to start backing up my computer but I don't know where to start. Can you help me with this?

A.
Good idea! And yes, I can help you find the perfect hard drive for the right price. Please contact me for more info. top

Q.
All of the data on my hard drive got erased by mistake. Can you save any of it?

A.
Possibly, it all depends on how the data was lost. If new data was written on top of your old data, then perhaps I can recover some of it. However, sometimes physical parts of the hard drive break and if that's the case, there is no real (affordable) way to retrieve the data. top
